Hardware options

How do you pick just the right hardware with all of the options out there? On a recent trip to select hardware pulls and knobs with a client, we were admittedly a bit overwhelmed. Rather than searching for the one perfect choice, I suggest purchasing a few that catch your eye.  Bring them home to test […]

Take a seat

You know I’m all about details.  For this recent shower remodel, we included a large built-in shower seat.  I love the extra large size of it – and it was all some with a leftover marble slab.  It adds great functionality to the shower and makes a great visual statement in an otherwise ordinary space.

Making progress

A few weeks ago,  I shared a current nursery design project.  Here is a follow up on how things are coming along.   The walls have been painted a pale grey, the crib and bedding are ready and the adorable animals photos have been framed and hung.   This stuffed giraffe in the corner is […]

Take out

I was looking back at photos in my iPhoto the other day and I came across this photo of a “wallpaper” that I created a few years back.  This was for a kitchen design for the Elle Decor showcase house in New York.   I took Chinese delivery menus and decoupaged them together.   This was […]

Manuel Canovas toile wallpaper

This stunning Manuel Canovas toile wallpaper will soon serve as the backdrop for our latest girls’ bedroom project. I love the animals and foliage with the bright raspberry colors and orange background.  We are working on finding just the right shade of pink for the bed upholstery. I am excited to see this project come […]

New light

I just installed this new light for my kitchen and I had to share!  The honeycomb/hexagon shape and the seeded glass really give you a nice focal point when walking into the room.  I am making a few other changes to the kitchen.  Just a slight makeover.  I took out my counter tops and put […]

Details

Here is a little peek of a project we recently installed.  I love the textures and patterns mixed together. The Greek key adds extra detail on the edge of the skirt of the sofa.  I think its geometric shape works well with the blue and white Chinese stool. This client needed the upholstery to […]

Looking up

I always try to remind myself to look up.  In this project, the light fixture is really the statement piece in the space – so it’s hard not to look up.  The glass globes are clustered together with the light bulbs, creating a light fixture that appears to float in the room.  When the fixture […]

Guest bedroom

Here is a shot from a recent photo shoot of a guest bedroom project. We started the project with the wallpaper from Galbraith and Paul and layered in shades of purples and plums, oranges and saffrons. The dark eggplant lamp from Christopher Spitzmiller and the yellow peony (yes, yellow – I had not seen one before either!) […]

Wild

We have gone a little bit wild over at my office lately.  Well…not really that wild.  We are more just wild for this baby animal series called Little Darlings by photographer Sharon Montrose.  I warn you that checking out her site will cause you to want to buy one of your own.  I dare you […]
