Green

Spotted this amazing color green paint (Pantone’s color of 2013) in a parking garage of all places.   You never know where you are going to find inspiration.

Spring

Spring seems to be popping its head out- or at least the plum tree out in front thought as much the other day.  Perhaps a bit premature- but even the trees are dreaming of some spring days. Have a great weekend!

Succulent Succulents

I have really been loving succulents more and more in the last years.  The patterns and layers are like little jewel boxes.  I love the color variations of this grouping that is living on my front steps these days. For someone with a surprisingly black thumb I have somehow managed to not kill this collection!

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet

Freshly cut garden roses, handpicked from a friend’s garden in Carmel just a week ago.  The colors, the texture and naturally the smell.   I cut this grouping and then enjoyed them for days on my desk.  They have since died and they are only a memory.  Beauty and inspiration come in some many places.  I […]

Inspiration

I have to say that I might have the world’s best bath mat warmer! People often ask me where to go for dinner when visiting San Francisco.  By some fluke a reservation opened up last week at a normal time (not 5 pm for the early bird special or 10 pm, which is way past […]

Inspiration

I just had to buy this pear and put it on display last week.  It was almost too good looking to eat.  The good news is that it tasted just as good. Campbell loves snuggling in bed.  He has a knack for sitting on my pile of books and magazines. Catching up on some classics […]

Inspiration

Loved the shape and style of these bar stools that I saw this past weekend at the flea market. Sadly, I didn’t pick them up (I don’t have place for them). Caramel apples.  At a lunch over the weekend a friend made these homemade yummy treats with apples from her own tree.  Makes me want to make these […]

Campbell’s Soup Cans

There is something about the iconic Andy Warhol Campbell’s Soup artwork that I have always loved. From Wikipedia: Campbell’s Soup Cans, which is sometimes referred to as 32 Campell’s Soup Cans, is a work produced in 1962 by Andy Warhol.  It consists of thirty-two canvases, each measuring 20 inches in height x 16 inches in […]

Week in review

Loving the colors and simple glass vases at Bar Jules in San Francisco. A perfect spot in Hayes Valley to meet a friend for lunch or dinner.   A client’s mother-in-law was visiting and we had to move fast to get every detail just perfect for her arrival. I normally don’t use powder tools, but I rolled […]

Inspiration

My shopping cart.  Filled with some summer essentials.  White wine and peonies. Enjoying the summer weather and a long lunch over iced tea (at Out the Door in San Francisco) We installed this pale green linen roman shade with a creamy grosgrain ribbon in a client’s powder room.  Sometimes it is all in the details.
