Fabric options
There are so many beautiful fabrics available on the market – it can be difficult to edit down to avoid overwhelming clients when make selections for the final cut. When I put fabrics together for a room, I am always looking for a balance of textures (you don’t want all the fabrics to have the […]
A perfect fit
This beautiful vintage-marbleized lamp is one of a pair that we are working on for a client’s guest bedroom. Finding a lamp shade that fits correctly can be a challenge. We typically end up having them made at our custom workroom so that they fit perfectly. Here is a model that we tried out last […]
Brown rice risotto
Lately, I have been playing around in the kitchen. Always on a mission to try to eat healthier. I saw risotto on a menu recently, but instead of the typical Arborio rice, it contained brown rice. Last weekend, I tried my own version with sautéed beet greens. Since brown rice takes so long to cook, […]
Nature
I recently snapped this photo as I loved the stunning quartz crystals (they are huge!) with the freshly picked lemons. What a simple but elegant setting for a table! What do you think about the combination?
Nipped and Tucked
I really must confess: recently, I had some “work” done. It’s entirely subtle and natural-looking. Some people have already commented that it’s hardly noticeable – but it was certainly needed. Details
I was re-watching a favorite the other day: Harold and Maude. I think that Harold’s mother has the best hat ever – look at the Greek key detailing!
Framed
I was at my local framer the other day (where I seem to be spending a lot of time recently.) The framer asked me about my approach to narrowing and selecting from all the options. I thought about it for a bit and have come up with the following: I search for a frame that […]
It’s a wrap
I have a thing for grosgrain ribbon. Black grosgrain ribbon to be exact. I tend to tie up all of my gifts with it. It has become a sort of signature of mine. I have a whole drawer full of all kinds of widths. Always available on a moment’s notice to add a special little […]
Twentysomething
We interrupt our usual blog posts with a very important announcement: Campbell and Wallace turned 20 over the weekend! They are just the greatest pair. As you can see by the photo they are having a ball! They can’t wait to be able to drink champagne next year! Cheers to my very special Westies.
Playing with patterns
I just had to share my new napkins from Madeline Weinrib. I love the modern, graphic black and white chevron. They work so well with my antique French Creil plates! I enjoy mixing styles and patterns in every facet of decor. Have a great weekend!
