Charleston

A few weeks ago I took a trip for a few days to Charleston, South Carolina with my friend Caitlin (check out her her blog if you don’t already know it: Sacramento Street). We stayed at a charming new hotel called the Zero George.  It was in the perfect location to do plenty of walking, […]

Charleston

Leaving in a few weeks for a few days in Charleston.  It’s my first trip.  Would love to hear if you have any suggestions of favorite places to eat or shop! Have a great weekend.

Mosquito netting

Have you had enough about my travels yet?  I hope not.   These mosquito nets are meant to be both purposeful and decorative.  I didn’t see one mosquito, but better safe than sorry.  The layering of the nets above my four poster bed was dreamy.

Breaking the rules

When someone says you can’t do something…it makes you want to do it even more. That was the case when visiting the Muthaiga Club in Nairobi.  They said no photos allowed.  I got scolded for even taking this one shot. Unpacking

Unpacking goodies from a trip brings back memories of great times. I love discovering unique things for the home and for gifts for friends. Here are some of my treasures from Kenya!

Back from Kenya

I have just returned from what has to be one of the most amazing trips of my life. Seeing the animals in the wild and getting so close (but not too close!) was surreal. Lions, zebra, kissing giraffes, feeding baby elephants, a sunrise hot air ballon ride – the list goes on and on. I […]

Leaving for Kenya this afternoon. I love taking a little notebook along when I travel to jot down notes and memories.  This is a favorite quote (and so inspiring  as I am off for my adventure.)  I’ve left some musings for you while I am gone and I can’t wait to share my adventures when […]

Sleepless in Seattle

Last weekend, I spent the weekend with a handful of great friends in Seattle.  It was a great little getaway filled with lots of laughs.  The weather was freezing cold – but hey – at least it was sunny and not raining! Biscuits with freezer jam for breakfast from Oddfellows A latte from Stumptown Walking […]

I love always having a special trip to look forward to. My next adventure is in February with two friends. We are travelling to Kenya for two weeks! It has been a trip that I have always always dreamed of.  I can’t wait to have new and amazing experiences and adventures.  I have been reading […]

New York, New York

There is nothing like a trip to New York – especially right after Thanksgiving with everything decorated for the holidays. My week was filled with meetings with editors, meeting with vendors about projects, sourcing for items which provided great inspiration to bring back home. The windows at Bergdorf Goodman are always a delight, lunch at Fred’s, […]
